Spring/Summer Sports (Teeball, Baseball, and Softball) - Our springtime sports programs will begin registration in early January and end in late February. Online registration will be available. Assessments for baseball players will be held February 25, 2012 and is mandatory. Assessment times are 10am until noon for coach pitch and noon until 2pm for minors/majors. A make-up assessment is scheduled for March 3, 2012 at 10:00am. Softball assessment dates have not yet been set. Teeball players do not attend assessments. Teams will be selected shortly after the last assessment day by a draft system. The regular season will begin in early April. League age is determined by the age of the player on April 30, 2012, except for softball. Softball league age is determined on January 1, 2012. The season for teeball (ages 4-6) will end mid-June. Coach Pitch (ages 7-8) regular season ends mid-June with all-star tournament play continuing into July. Minors (9-10) regular season play ends near the end of June with all-star tournament play continuing into July and possibly beyond. The Majors league (ages 11-12) will play through the end of June and early July with tournament play into July and August. Our girls' softball leagues (ages 7-15) will play from early April through the end of June with tournament play into July. We also have two baseball leagues for older boys (ages 13-14) and (ages 15-19). These games are scheduled in the summer after the conclusion of local high school games and registration will begin in April. For players who wish to explore more opportunities, we also provide select teams for travel play in baseball and softball. Contact the rec director for more information on select team play. Those fees are $50 for teeball, $65 for baseball and softball.

Fall Sports (Teeball, Baseball, Softball) - Our fall sports programs mirror our spring programs in many ways except that league age for softball is based on player age November 1, 2012. Teeball and baseball league age is April 30, 2012 Teeball is for league age 4-5, coach pitch for 6-7, minors for 8-9, and majors for 10-11, and older boys 12-13. The program is designed to move players up in the fall to the league they will play in the following spring. We do not yet offer fall leagues for children older than league age 13, but if demand is high enough we will explore the possibility. Registration will begin in July and continue until early August. Games will begin in early September and continue through late October. Fees for fall sports in 2011 were $50. Fees for 2011 have not yet been set.

Winter Sports (Basketball and Cheerleading) - Our basketball league is open to children ages 5-13 divided into three age groups according to numbers and ages of the children registered each year. Games are played at the Youngsville Elementary School gymnasium on Saturdays beginning in early December and continuing through mid-February. Cheerleading is held in conjunction with these games. Contact the rec director for more information.

Soccer is not provided by Youngsville Parks and Recreation Department. However, Youngsville Area Kids Soccer has provided both spring and fall soccer programs for hundreds of children in the area for many years. We make every effort to schedule our games so as not to conflict with scheduled soccer games, so please feel free to participate in both programs. In addition, Franklin County Parks and Recreation offers alternative recreational opportunities such as youth fishing and adult programs.

Youngsville Parks and Recreation is exploring the possibility of adding adult softball leagues in the summer. If you would be interested in forming a team and entering into summer and fall league play in Youngsville, please contact us.
